A small, senior team of designers, engineers, and strategists who believe software should be bold, fast, and unforgettable.
Sleeck started in 2021 when our founder Alex Chen left Stripe with a simple thesis: the best digital products are built by small, tight-knit teams where design and engineering work side-by-side from day one. Not in silos. Not in waterfall handoffs. Together.
We started with two people and a Notion board. Today we're a team of twelve, and we've shipped over 50 projects — from pre-seed startup MVPs to enterprise platforms serving millions of users. We're still small by design. Every team member is senior-level. No junior farms. No offshore handoffs. No project managers who've never written code or pushed pixels.
We're fully remote, mostly based in San Francisco and New York, with team members in London and Tokyo. We work in small, focused squads (usually 3-4 people per project) and communicate like a startup — fast Slack threads, weekly video standups, and a shared obsession with shipping quality work on time.
We show working software, not presentations. Weekly demos of real progress, not status update meetings.
Senior people move faster. A team of 4 at Sleeck outships a team of 12 at a traditional agency.
Our designers write CSS. Our engineers have opinions about spacing. This is a feature, not a bug.
No hourly billing. No scope creep surprises. We agree on what we're building and what it costs before we start.
Small team, big output. Every member is senior-level and ships across disciplines.
Founder & Creative Director
Alex spent 6 years at Stripe leading the design team behind Stripe Dashboard and Stripe Atlas, then 2 years at a Y Combinator startup before founding Sleeck. With a background in both industrial design (RISD) and computer science (MIT), Alex brings a rare blend of aesthetic sensibility and technical depth to every project. When not obsessing over border-radius values, Alex is probably rock climbing or writing about design systems.
Head of Engineering
Maya was a principal engineer at Vercel where she worked on Next.js core and Edge Runtime. Before that she spent 4 years at Cloudflare building Workers. She's the person who makes sure our code is not just functional but fast, maintainable, and elegantly architected. Maya is a frequent conference speaker and maintains several popular open-source packages. She thinks in TypeScript and dreams in SQL.
Lead Product Designer
Jordan joined Sleeck from Linear, where they led the design of Linear's workspace features and contributed to their iconic design system. With a master's degree in HCI from Carnegie Mellon and stints at Figma and Notion, Jordan has an almost supernatural ability to reduce complex workflows to simple, intuitive interfaces. They're the team's biggest advocate for user research and the person most likely to say 'have we tested this with real users?'
Full-Stack Engineer
Sam is a full-stack engineer who genuinely enjoys writing both database migrations and CSS animations. After graduating from the University of Lagos, Sam spent 3 years at a London fintech startup building real-time trading dashboards, then went freelance before joining Sleeck. Sam maintains several open-source React libraries and has a personal rule: if it's not typed, it's not shipped.
Brand Strategist
Luna spent 5 years at Pentagram and 3 years at Collins, working on brand identities for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500s. She brings deep brand strategy chops to Sleeck, leading our identity projects from the initial positioning workshop through to final guidelines delivery. Luna has an encyclopedic knowledge of typography and an uncanny ability to articulate why one shade of blue 'feels right' and another doesn't. She also teaches a brand design course at SVA.
Mobile Engineer
Rio started their career as an iOS engineer at a Tokyo gaming studio, building performance-critical native apps in Swift. After moving to San Francisco, Rio transitioned to React Native and quickly became one of the most knowledgeable cross-platform engineers in the ecosystem. At Sleeck, Rio handles all mobile projects, often writing custom native modules to bridge the gap between cross-platform convenience and native performance. Rio is also an active contributor to the React Native community.
A proven, repeatable framework refined across 50+ projects. Transparent timelines. No surprises.
We dig deep into your business, users, and market. Stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, and goal alignment. We don't start until we truly understand the problem.
Information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and technical planning. We map out every screen and interaction before a single pixel is placed.
High-fidelity UI design, prototyping, and iteration. Multiple rounds of feedback until every detail is nailed. We design in the browser when it makes sense.
Sprint-based development with weekly demos. Clean, tested, documented code shipped incrementally. You see real progress, not slide decks.
Deployment, monitoring, analytics setup, and post-launch optimization. We stick around to make sure everything performs in the real world.
Sleeck took our half-baked idea and turned it into a product that raised us a $4M seed round. They move faster than any agency I've worked with.
The design quality is on another level. Every screen they delivered felt considered, intentional, and just... right. Our users actually comment on how good the app looks.
They don't just build what you ask for. They challenge your assumptions, push back when needed, and ultimately ship something better than what you imagined.
Working with Sleeck felt like having a co-founder, not a vendor. They cared about our business outcomes as much as we did. Would hire again in a heartbeat.
We're always looking for senior designers and engineers who want to do their best work. Remote-first, competitive pay, no BS.
